Move the new graphic to a free space on the canvas. The new vector graphic has been placed directly on top of the old one.Windows: Click on the red X button in the top right corner of the dialogue box.Mac: Click on the red button in the top left corner of the dialogue box. You may need to close the dialogue box by doing the following: You can now exit out of the Trace Bitmap window. Change the Threshold to 0.7 so that the rosy cheeks of the cat comes through in the live preview.Try moving the Threshold between 0 to 1 and click on the Update button each time to see the image change. Changing the Threshold value will change the amount of brightness needed in order to be converted to the new vector graphic. Currently, we’re using the Brightness cutoff mode. Now you should be able to see a preview of your image. Click on the Update button or select Live Preview.With the image still selected, click on the Path menu, then Trace Bitmap.If you hold ctrl while reducing its size then the height to width ratio will remain locked. If it needs to be scaled down then click on the image and use the arrows to change its size. A box may pop-up asking about import settings.Find the file that you downloaded and click Open.For the sake of this exercise choose a PNG or JPEG format even though there are plenty of free vector graphic (svg) images out there. If you would like to find your own image to engrave, keep in mind that it needs to be high-contrast and free of copyright.
